A Texas fisherman recently caught a cubera snapper waiting for Texas and the world record while diving underwater in Port Aransas on June 3. Port Aransas Fisherman’s Wharf published an article about the capture on its Facebook page on Friday, June 10.
The fish service site told MySA that Braden Sherron on a bay boat in the waters of Port Aransas when he caught a snapper. His fish weighed 137 pounds. Brianna Pool, who works for Port Aransas Fisherman’s Wharf, told MySA she was there when the fish splintered and said, “It’s giant. Just huge. “

Cubera snappers are the largest snappers in the world: The state record, set in 1983, is 131 pounds, according to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department records. the fish weighed 124 pounds, according to the International Sport Fishing Association.
Pool said the fisherman told Port Aransas Fisherman’s Wharf that they were waiting for the official word after submitting the documents about the fish. Pending recordings normally take two weeks to become official.
