A mixed-use plan to build 655 multifamily homes in Central Pike in Wilson County has been presented to Mt. Juliet.

Lifestyle Communities will expand the approximately 63-acre site not far from the Providence Central expansion.

The plans show 359 “Block C townhouses” and 296 additional multifamily dwellings. One, two and three bedroom sets are offered.

Goat Restaurant, the park area and recreational regions are also part of the plans.

Approval of the annexation at Mount Juliet, modification of the land use plan, and rezoning as a component of a planned unit progression, in accordance with the city’s decomposition plans, are sought.

LC Mt. Juliet II is the provisional call of the plan. It’s not far from Providence Central’s mixed-use development, according to the owner.

Mt. Juliet City and Urban Planning Commissioner Scott Hefner does not draw up the plan until road projects such as the Central Pike Interchange and the South Mt. Juliet Road expansion are completed. Hefner also doesn’t make the proposed density.

“Existing traffic congestion is a primary concern,” Hefner said. “(I) also want to see expansion plans for Wilson County schools. “

The assets belong to Weathers’ circle of relatives and is where Don Weathers and Diane Weathers reside.

Don Weathers is a former member of the Wilson County School Board. Diane Weathers is now Wilson County Commissioner and a member of Mt. Juliet.

Lifestyle Communities has a contract on the issue of assets pending approval, Don Weathers said.

Weathers has been providing donations from developers in various states for years, Don Weathers said. The assets have been owned by Diane Weathers’ circle of relatives for more than two hundred years, Don Weathers said.

Don Weathers believes the plan is better suited to the evolution of Lifestyle Communities and said it provides higher quality progression than others who are interested in the property.

In the vicinity of Providence Central there is an ongoing progression approved by an apartment complex, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Rooms To Go.

The approval procedure would begin with the Mount Juliet Planning Commission, but would ultimately require approval from the Municipal Commission.

Diane Weathers will seek the recommendation of the city attorney of Mt. Juliet on the advisability of recusing herself from any vote of the plan-making commission on the map.
