Firefighters were delayed while responding to an emergency incident due to parked cars blocking the road. As the tourist season approaches, Cornwall Council reminds others to leave enough area for emergency cars to pass when they park.
The Tolvaddon Community Fire Station tweeted that its team was unable to cross a street due to parked cars while responding to an emergency call earlier this month, attaching a photo of the narrow street with cars parked on both sides. The fire station said: “This month, Blue Watch encountered a challenge, an emergency reaction and it may just not happen. Think about where you park and leave enough area for cars to pass through emergency facilities. “

A similar incident led the Padstow Coast Guard to blow up an “inappropriate” parking lot when a vehicle parked next to an emergency access point. Volunteers beat the motorist at Trevone Round Hole.
Sharing a photo of the vehicle in a Facebook post, a Padstow Coast Guard spokesperson said it was “the best example of where not to park your car. “and have a serious effect on the fate of the victim.

The message also said access issues along the sea coast will have no signage and noted that a gate or track “will be there for a reason. “
