Vodafone Germany launches 5G SA in the former capital Bonn

German operator Vodafone has announced the start of the deployment of 5G generation Standalone (SA) in the former capital of the country, Bonn, and the aim is to connect the entire population to the 5G SA network until 2025.

Firstly, Vodafone will make extensive use of the existing cellular communication infrastructure and, where possible, will deploy its antennas for 5G and 5G SA at the 91 existing cellular communication sites in Bonn. Existing cellular radio stations are being upgraded by installing more 5G and 5G SA technologies, for example on masts, towers, church towers and on the roofs of town halls, work buildings and residential buildings.

Vodafone is also expanding its existing cellular network in Bonn, where it grants almost all the policy with its LTE network. By mid-2023, Vodafone will install a total of nine more sites on the existing cellular network to close LTE balance issues and develop LTE. capacity and speeds.

Vodafone recently said that its autonomous 5G network is recently available to almost 10 million people across Germany.

Vodafone said 5G SA will be enabled across the company’s 5G footprint, achieving national policy until 2025.

The company also said its 5G network is already reaching forty-five million more people across the country. The telecom operator also said its 5G network is expected to be available to another 60 million people by 2023.

Last year, Vodafone Germany unveiled its 5G Standalone (SA) in partnership with Ericsson, Nokia, Qualcomm and OPPO.

For 5G expansion, Vodafone relies on frequencies in the 3. 6 GHz, 1. 8 GHz and 700 MHz bands in giant urban spaces, residential and suburban spaces, and rural spaces throughout Germany.

Vodafone has said in the past that it is installing new 5G antennas from technology partner Ericsson on its 5G network, which transmit data in a much more energy-efficient way. Vodafone has tested 150 of those 5G antennas and aims to convert 900 5G antennas to this energy-saving generation by the end of the current fiscal year.

Vodafone first introduced its 5G network in Germany in 2019, on 3. 5 GHz frequencies acquired from Telefónica in 2018.
