Reports imply that a device was discovered in a Chinese area that is used to block communication signals.
China’s Beijing Daily newspaper reported that researchers at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert in inner Mongolia discovered a device that caused “abnormal” interference in communications. Researchers at the launch site detected interference in communications and began searching for the device, which turned out to be a fairly small frequency transmitter that only had a diversity of about 32 feet.
The length of the device and the proximity of the frequency it transmits have led researchers and the government to speculate whether the device was deliberately placed there in an attempt to sabotage China’s upcoming launch, where the space company will send 3 astronauts to its newly built space station. However, the government has not yet revealed whether the placement of the device was intentional or how it was delivered to the place where it was found. In addition, the local Chinese firm said it would continue with the launch.
