A twist of car fate Thursday morning led to power outages in part of Dutchess County, according to the sources. There aren’t many main points at this point yet, however, authorities say the road where the crash occurred will be closed for some time on Thursday.
Eastern Dutchess Fire and Rescue posted on its Facebook page that the crash occurred in Dover on Cricket Hill Road when a motor vehicle hit a pole On Thursday morning. Authorities say the crash dropped wires into the motor vehicle and knocked down the pole and transformer. Eastern Dutchess says the crash caused forced outages in the neighborhood, but specified the extent of the outages or how long the domain will be without service.
The former Ulster County Jail, which it left in 2007, could soon fall. Ulster County Superintendent Pat Ryan announced Tuesday that demolition will soon begin on the site that was first built in the early 1970s. The press release states that the 2022 executive budget has allocated a budget to streamline the demonstration procedure by enabling spaces for construction. Given the age and condition of the old prison, it is not possible to renovate and reuse it through any kind of new business.
So what’s going to be built in its place?
Ryan says demolition at the domain may begin this summer. What is planned to be built in their position is affordable housing, according to the press release. County Principal Ryan said the Golden Hill concept would build affordable housing for seniors, and others in need of supportive housing to help others under “tremendous strain due to the housing crisis. “
