She thanks partners, such as the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare Foundation, as well as academics and volunteer staff, for the site’s enduring good fortune.
“This has really supported us for the past few years, and we must thank the Tallahassee network and all the contour communities that have supported us this time,” Harris said. “It is thanks to the love of the network that we have maintained our site. “
Since opening, the site has been moved from the stadium to Ardelia Court on Wahnish Way, north of FAMU’s Research School for Development, where the public can stop by for testing or vaccinations.
As of Saturday, April 23, site staff administered 632,323 tests. The number of tests fluctuated as the virus peaked.

Currently, the positivity rate for FAMU COVID-19 is around 11%.
“Even now, we’re seeing an increase in positivity rates,” Tatum said, “but it’s harder for other people to recognize because they don’t see higher hospitalizations like they used to. “
Tatum hopes to be able to maintain their online presence for as long as it takes during the pandemic, making sure they can maintain access for everyone.
“It’s not over. FAMU is committed to offering testing and we are still there,” Tatum said.
