? Jayhawks fall in game against Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Kansas Jayhawks fell in the game to the Texas Red Raiders with a final score of 5-2 Saturday afternoon at Rocky Johnson Field.

Kansas now has an 11-20 overall and 0-5 in the Big 12 game. Texas Tech is 18-15 overall and 2-3 in the conference.

The Jayhawks allowed a couple of problems beaten in the first, resulting in an uphill war for the rest of the game.

At the start of the third, Shayna Espy and Ashlyn Anderson each had singles. During Lyric Moore’s at-bat, either runner committed to a pass, which put them in scoring position. A wild backward shot put the two runners ahead. and Espy went home. Moore received base on balls, which put runners on the corners for the Jayhawks. During Shelby Gayre’s fight, a pair of interceptions allowed Anderson to go home and Moore to take the place of the moment. The score tied 2-2.

Toward the end of the third, a two-run homer allowed Texas Tech to regain a 4-2 lead.

It was a pitchers’ duel for the next 3 innings, but in the back of the sixth, the Red Raiders rekindled their bats. A run followed by back-to-back singles allowed Texas Tech to recover one more, bringing the score to 5-2.

Espy hit a triple early in the seventh inning, but it came too late as Kansas couldn’t score.

Both groups will conclude the weekend series with the first release scheduled for 12 p. m. m. CT. The game will air on Big 12 NOW on ESPN.
