Ford will launch seven new all-electric cars over the next two years, as it moves toward a power line.
Announcing plans for production expansion at its Cologne electrification center, the logo said it targets 600,000 EV sales in Europe through 2026, dividing the business into two branches: Ford Model e, which will oversee the production of new electric vehicles, and Ford Blue, which will continue the combustion engine lineup.
The 3 new cars and 4 pickups will join Ford’s existing Mach-e and Mach-e GT electric cars and the long-running E-Transit, which will arrive later this year.
The first new vehicle will be a five-seater midsize SUV on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform. It will have compatibility with the Mustang Mach-e in diversity and offer up to 310 miles of diversity.
The call of the new SUV will be later this year before production from 2023. It will be manufactured at the Cologne plant in a new “sport-crossover” style that is expected to go on sale the following year.
At the same time, an all-electric edition of the Ford Puma crossover will go into production at Ford’s plant in Romania.
