Madhya Pradesh: two Rly employees killed, 3 employees injured in a collapse on a structure under a bridge

Two railway employees were killed, while 3 employees were injured when dust from a railway structure under a bridge collapsed on them in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district, police said on Saturday. The incident occurred near Sumreri station between Sagar and Bine stations around 9:30 p. m. m. on Friday, said Sumit Kerketa, a police officer with the Khurai Branch (SDOP).

Dust used in the structure of the secondary passage slipped and collapsed, burying rail personnel and staff at the site, the official said. Police and railway crews rushed to the scene and began rescuing other people buried in the dust, he said.

Permanent track inspector Sukhram Ahirwar (45) and senior segment engineer Ramsahay Meena (49) were killed, while 3 staff members were injured in the incident, said Shailendra Rajawat, chief of Khurai Dehat police station. 2 am on Saturday.
