Former President Donald Trump, known for lying tens of thousands of times during his presidency and now faces a subpoena in New York for likely lying in his financial bureaucracy and tax returns, is now launching a new named social media app, Truth Social. The premise is the same as it has claimed since 2016, namely that the mainstream media is not trustworthy and that it is they, not Trump, who are the liars.
The launch of the app this week was a failure. Many other people who signed up for “Truths” continued to receive error messages or were told they were on a waiting list.
These things with any new release on social media, however, this is consistent with Trump’s other big corporations that promised wonderful effects but didn’t deliver: luxury hotels that turn out to be profitable and expensive, an airline that went bankrupt, and a lucrative university corporation that went so far from fulfilling its promises that Trump ended up paying $25 million to defrauded students.
Prosecutors say he overvalued his homes to trick banks into lending him money, and then undervalued those homes to minimize his taxes.
Words done and Trump just don’t happen together on any platform, social network or anything else.
The fact that Truth Social will replace social media giants like Twitter and Facebook is dubious at best.
The explanation for why Trump introduced the app is that Facebook and Twitter banned it for inciting violence. 6 January 2021,
Capitol Insurgency: A violent attack provoked through Trump’s “big lie” that he was robbed of the 2020 presidential election.
Another sign of concern is the fine print of Social’s user contract.
Despite the promoters’ claims that the site will be an open forum for other people to express themselves without censorship, the User Agreement states that other people who post on the site are not likely to “disparage, tarnish or otherwise harm, in our opinion, us and/or the Pleasures. “
Freedom of speech, that is, whenever you criticize the Great Leader.
It is the same spirit that guides the dictatorships of Russia, China, Egypt and Cuba, and accords with the trend established through Trump in his approvals of some Republican hopefuls and his attacks on others.
Criticizing him or daring to hold him accountable will surely drive him out of the Republican Party, as Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger can attest.
Truth Social is led by former Republican Rep. Devin Nunes of California, a Trump sycophant.
Now, Trump and his enthusiasts will be able to say whatever they want, unfiltered and unfettered through major social media corporations that insist on stringent regulations on users who don’t use their accounts to violently overthrow democracies.
The fans who were
driven to launch an insurrection, plot the kidnapping of the governor of Michigan and sabotage national efforts
involving the pandemic will now have a new unfiltered platform for planning acts of madness in the long term.
