CYPRUS is the newest country to introduce new regulations for Britons wishing to enter the country.
The UK is on Cyprus’ red list as the country tries to curb the spread of Covid, so the British will have to stick to the new regulations if they plan to give up.
Starting today, all travelers over the age of 12 arriving in Cyprus will be required to complete an online form and download a negative PCR verification result within 48 hours prior to departure.
Travelers will then need to perform a momentary PCR check upon landing at Cyprus airport, with a charge between €15 and €19.
The British will have to isolate themselves in their homes until they get the result of their control, which will be within 3 hours.
If the result is positive, they must remain remote and wait for orders from the Ministry of Health.
If the result of the airport PCR check is negative, the British will have to perform daily self-checks for five days.
If any of these control effects are positive, it is up to the Ministry of Health.
After staying in Cyprus for 72 hours, and whenever they have negative self-check effects of the last few days, they will have to go through an immediate check in a cellular unit of the Ministry of Health, which is loose for those who provide a boarding pass at the verification site.
Children 12 years old are exempt from the test.
While Cyprus has introduced stricter rules, Germany lifted the UK ban today, just weeks after it was introduced.
Britons wishing to go to the country will no longer have to quarantine or have a negative Covid check if they are fully vaccinated.
France continues to ban everything that is not essential to and from Britain.
It is possible that pre-departure testing will be phased out this week, saving families more than £100.
