The loud sound captured in a four-second video and shared on YouTube, where it has since gained more than 6,000 views.
Thursday’s explosion, which was felt and heard through citizens of the east and the shrinking El Paso Valley, took position at a structure site in Mexico, jaurez El Diario newspaper reported, according to KVIA.
According to the report, the explosion took place near a place where a structure team was running with explosives.
Workers were running to extract fabrics on a hill along the Camino Real when the explosion occurred.
And about 20 neighboring homes were destroyed after the incident, Mexican said.
No injuries or deaths were reported.
First responders began receiving calls about the mysterious boom around 2 p. m. local time.
At the time of the explosion, many citizens said it “looked like an earthquake. “
The noise was also heard and felt in the vicinity of the town of Socorro, according to a village official.
It also intrigued El Paso police and firefighters, who had no firmness without delay to tell the cause of the noise.
“The El Paso Police Department has obtained reports of a boom or explosion. At this time, there has been no confirmation of a location or reasoning and the El Paso Police Department is still reviewing the situation,” the police branch said in a tweet.
