The global continues to advance in the war opposed to Covid-19; Vaccination rates in the United States are the highest and new remedies and vaccines continue to develop, but that room for manoeuvre gave Americans time to ask more questions about how this pandemic first.
There are two rival theories about the origins of the pandemic that are sweeping government and social media: the first is that the virus has evolved naturally and spread from animals to humans, in the same way as SARS, MERS and Ebola. The theory is that the virus leaked from a lab in China, either by mistake or intentionally. The first theory is much more likely than the moment, but that hasn’t stopped the debate from turning into a full fight this week.
This week, President Biden ended a secret Trump-era assignment investigating the theory of a lab leak in Wuhan, but at the same time, other members of his management began to take the option of a leak seriously. called for a transparent investigation into the subject, suggesting that an initial investigation conducted earlier this year through the World Health Organization may have been compromised through Chinese officials.
Also this week, the Senate unanimously approved an ab that requires the federal government to declassify any data on the links between the Wuhan Institute of Virology and Covid-19. The resolution came days after a new Wall Street Journal report revealed that several Wuhan lab staff members had fallen with an unknown illness months before the pandemic began.
Biden said he hopes the intelligence network will have an answer about the origins of the virus in the next 90 days, historically, identifying the source of a virus can take months or years.
Meanwhile, Republicans are denouncing the media for not taking the theory of lab leaks seriously enough at the beginning of the pandemic. Although experts have continually said that there is still no evidence of either theories of origin, other people are convinced that they already know the answer. Former President Donald Trump spoke out in particular about his beliefs and said he had “very little doubt” that the Covid-19 virus had escaped from a lab in China.
