Cobham Mission Systems announced Thursday that the company had secured subcontracts with the German Air Force’s Eurofighter Typhoon Quadriga Tranche Four fleet to supply brightness and flare distribution equipment, which is essential to assist pilots on all their missions and safely return to base.
“These new orders will allow Cobham Mission Systems to build the structure of 38 Eurofighter Typhoon Unit four aircraft, which are important to the European defense industry,” said Duncan Thorndike, Vice President of Transport and Arms Liberation at Cobham Mission Systems.
Cobham Mission Systems’ bullet and flare defensive aid systems come with illuminating rocket dispensers for infrared search missile countermeasures and brightness dispensers that deploy debris to neutralize radar-guided missile threats.
“Cobham Mission Systems has supported the Typhoon program from the start and supplied aircraft for more than 550 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft recently in service,” Thorndike added. “We are proud to continue supplying our proven defensive aid components, adding glitter and flashing systems, for one of the army’s most productive action fighter jets serving European and foreign allied countries.
