Morris County prepares COVID-19 megavacuna site

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – Morris County, the Atlantic Health System and the state of New Jersey will identify a “Mega COVID-19 Vaccination Center” in an ad area at Rockaway Township Mall.

“This allows us to put the infrastructure in place to deliver the vaccine to each and every resident who wants to be vaccinated,” Gov. Phil Murphy said.

The six “megasites” will be distributed across the state and supplemented through more than two hundred satellite vaccination centers in hospitals, emergency care centers and chain pharmacies, state officials said.

“We are proud to be part of the Atlantic Health System and the state of New Jersey in this vital effort to stop the devastating tide of COVID-19. By launching this great vaccination center in our backyard, we will bring the vaccine not only to Morris County residents, but also to our neighbors and families in northern Jersey as we continue to fight this fatal virus,” Morris County officials said in a statement. “This is an exclusive opportunity for Morris County to help bring the vaccine to thousands more. and every day and to be an integral component of a national effort that we pray that one day it will repair normality in the daily lives of all Americans. In fact, we are grateful to have discovered aid components in this effort, such as Atlantic Health and the State of New Jersey, and look forward to implementing this plan quickly. “

Officials also quickly notice that federal and state rules for the delivery of COVID-19 vaccines require vaccines to be given first to others in long-term care services and direct caregivers. The next point of vaccination will involve the first to respond.

<< This installation is not yet open and, once established, will not be open to the general public until further notice. No one will be able to enter the facility without authorization and no vaccine will be provided to those who show up unexpectedly. "officials said.

Satellite immunization sites are still being installed, Murphy said, but they will be in federally qualified hospitals, fitness centers, emergency care centers, pharmacy chains, and localized sites arranged with local and county fitness services.
