Make monkeys on snow resources while Japanese macaques one day at the spa

Japanese macaques, known as snow monkeys, immersed themselves in the sizzling geothermal springs of Jigokudani Yaen-Koen Park in Yamanouchi, Nagano Prefecture, on Wednesday.

Wild monkeys are known to bathe in springs all year round, with snow on site for a third of the year. Located at an altitude of 850 meters (2788 feet), the site is part of a national park and Monkey Park was officially established in 1964 as part of a conservation effort.

During the months, primates descend from the forests of the Jigokudani cliffs to the hot springs, to relieve the sea from below-zero temperatures.
