Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said Thursday that his 9-year-old daughter, Maya, took the COVID-19 test.
Garcetti said his daughter had a fever in the days leading up to the test and that his symptoms were mild and that he and his wife therefore tested negative.
Over the next 10 days, Garcetti would be quarantined and paintings from his home.
Comments were made at Thursday’s coronavirus briefing, where he also said he would not be enrolled in Joe Biden’s administration.

On December 7, Eric Garcetti was appointed co-chair of Biden-Harris’ inaugural committee.
