“Small donors who donate to Trump thinking they are investing in an ‘official electoral defense fund’ are helping to pay off Trump’s campaign debt or fund his post-presidential political operation,” Brendan Fischer, director of federal reform at the Campaign Legal Center – a nonprofit that works to lessen the influence of cash on politics — told the Post.
