SMPTE expands its offerings, standardization paints and network paint occasions to provide greater service to media professionals, technologists and engineers.
WHITE PLAINS, NY – October 1, 2020 – SMPTE®, the home of media professionals, technologists and engineers, today unveiled a new logo and (smpte. org) Along with those changes, SMPTE is redefining how it serves professionals so that The Society can be more available and more agile to satisfy the wishes of its members. In addition to creating a higher price in its educational offerings, standardization paintings and network painting events, the Society is developing plans to advertise greater diversity, equity and inclusion within the SMPTE and industry as a whole.

The new SMPTE logo features an updated font and an iconic camera iris graphic represented in the original colors of the SMPTE color bar. The redesigned online page introduces this new logo and a completely new and engaging user experience Changes to the design and content of the site permit for convenient access to relevant, timely and useful educational data and materials. Over time, the company will continue to expand this offer and the usefulness of smpte. org.
The ongoing procedure of reinventing the SMPTE is guided through a three-year strategic plan introduced in 2019. Over the past two years, the Corporation has re-examined its guiding principles, vision, project and proposals and sutured them to emphasize the roles of global organizations while emphasizing its continued commitment to be inclusive and objective with all perspectives in mind.
SMPTE plans to promote greater diversity, fairness and inclusion and will continue to magnify the talents of a broader diversity of media generation professionals of all nationalities, races, genders and career paths. The Corporation took the first step in being the industry’s first criteria framework to erase its documents and update technical terms that may be racist with more precise and considerate language.
In terms of standardization work, SMPTE adapts to be more agile and responsive to the evolution of media technologies, artistic techniques and business models. also expanding its rigorous criteria progression procedure with new models that allow members and the general public to make a contribution to a variety of regulatory documents.
The evolution of SMPTE will also be evident at this year’s annual technical convention, SMPTE 2020: “Game On”, a virtual occasion that will take place from 10 to 12 November. The maximum SMPTE convention available to date will include technical presentations, educational sessions, exhibitions and networking opportunities for members around the world. Special pricing features are designed to represent a barrier for any participant, whether student or professional.
