HOWARD COUNTY, MD – Quality First Urgent Care has partnered with Howard County to perform some other management diagnostic check at the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department, 5700 Rowanberry Dr. , Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. October 12. No orders will be required. Scheduled appointments will be available, but they are not mandatory.
“Strong and consistent verification is one of our top vital teams in understanding the spread of COVID-19 and temporarily isolating those who test positive,” Howard County Director Calvin Ball said in a statement. “We are grateful to Dr. Pascal Crosley and his Quality First team who have gone out of their way to address this need in our network and to our Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department for lending their space. Additionally, network verification at Howard County General Hospital has been instrumental in reaching underserved populations and providing COVID-19 data and verification to more of our residents. “Quality First has been working to fill a verification hole since the closure of the coronavirus verification at the Columbia VEIP site so that the transmitting station can resume operations. The VEIP site, which closed on September 24, was a coordinated effort between the Howard County Health Department and the Maryland Department of Health. “As a member of the Howard County Public Safety Team, it is imperative that we react to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Howard County Fire Marshal William Anuszewski. affecting our ability to continue to provide quality of emergency service is a beneficial solution for the network we serve.
Elkridge’s volunteer fire chief Russell Pryorn said it’s “important for us to have a COVID check on our network for convenience and peace of mind. “
“Opening a check in the northern component of the county allows more citizens to get checks nearby,” dr. Maura J. Rossman, Howard County Health Officer. “The more people are controlled and aware of their COVID status, the more effective we can be at controlling the spread of the virus. “
To date, Howard County has evaluated 27. 4% of its population and has a seven-day positivity of 1. 95%. On average, Howard County administers more than 1,300 tests consistent with the day.
