Chattanooga Scarecrow Contest, Virtual Tales in Jonesborough Between Autumn Weekend Festivals

Crabtree Farms will offer new hands on the floor on Saturday as a one-month Fun on the Farm birthday party that begins the fall produce season. The Transitority Aid is a collection of 12 scarecrows, all competing for votes in a popularity contest that runs until October.

“They’re cute too,” said Melissa Astin, the farm’s director of scope and participation. “Creativity is amazing. “

The occasion is first encouraged through scarecrows on the lawn of the Atlanta Botanical Garden, which allocates companies, families and networking teams to create a fieldmate.

Astin, who is from Atlanta, said he thinks the Chattanoogans would enjoy a similar spectacle and that there is plenty of room for social estrangement on the 22-acre urban farm.

“It’s safe for the COVID network to get involved,” he said.

The estate also bought about three hundred pumpkins from a manufacturer in Morristown, Tennessee, which families can buy to take home their stay. On October 17 and 24, registered participants will be able to carve pumpkins on site.

“This way, they can create a mess on the farm and the house,” he said. “As a mother, I thought, ‘That’s what we do. ‘”

Astin said visitors will also locate an otoñal-themed stand to create their own images and many products that can be purchased at the farm shop.

“We have corn stalks for sale and we will have many products until November. At this time of year, we’re going to see vegetables, daikons and rábanos, more root vegetables,” he says.

Scarecrows will be in demonstration until October 31.

Fun on the Farm is one of at least a dozen fall festivals that begin or continue this weekend, adding a couple who have virtual this year. The Bluff Park Art Show announced in the past in Hoover, Alabama, has been cancelled.
