TEXAS (September 30, 2020) – Gathered for a larger cause than Texas, 10 professional sports groups and five civic organizations across the state presented the #TexasTeamUp crusade to inspire unprecedented voter turnout in the 2020 election cycle.
The League of Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the Texas League of Women Voters, MOVE Texas, Texas NAACP and the Urban League have partnered with 10 professional sports for the campaign: Austin Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Dallas. Wings, Houston Dash, Houston Dynamo, San Antonio FC, San Antonio Spurs, Texas Legends and Texas Rangers.
“We are proud to join this coalition to inspire Texas to go out and vote,” said RC Buford, CEO of Spurs Sports.
The campaign, which will come with joint voter education and outperform each organization’s efforts through marketing and social media, was created to inspire the eligible electorate to prepare and participate in the upcoming elections.
