The teenager was arrested the next day at his home in Antioch, just 30 minutes southwest of Kenosha. The teenager was charged with first-degree intentional murder after allegedly killing two Black Lives Matter protesters and injuriating others in a semi-automatic AR Rittenhouse style claims he acted in self-defense on August 25 at a demonstration in the city of Wisconsin.
The fatal incident occurred on the third day of protests following the shooting of Jacob Blake, an unarmed black man who fired several times while trying to get into his car.
Rittenhouse is being held on charges of manslaughter and fighting extradition to Wisconsin, where he is reportedly being tried, the Chicago Tribune reportedly reported. He is detained without bail at the Lake County Juvenile Detention Center. If convicted as an adult, Rittenhouse may be sentenced. life imprisonment, according to the Tribune.
