Instagram has introduced recommended posts, a new feature designed to move users longer.

Here’s everything you want to know about recommended posts and how to turn them off.

What are the messages?

Instagram had in the past implemented a feature that alerted users when they reached the end of their feed, which means they got stuck with all the messages in the last two days of the other people they’re following.

When you see this message, you’ll have the ability to view older posts, allowing you to continue scrolling through other people’s posts.

Now, Instagram has launched a new feature called “suggested posts,” which means that when you click on this message that says everything stuck, Instagram will now show posts from your account that you don’t follow.

Instagram states that “these tips are based on account posts like the ones you use and the ones you like or record.”

How do I turn off advised publications?

The bad news for those who are tired of seeing random messages from other people they don’t attach to is that you can’t turn this feature off.

A recent article in Instagram FAQ says in particular, “You won’t be able to hide recommended posts.”

However, at least you can use Instagram to make posts more applicable to you.

When you scroll through your feed, if you find a message suggestion that you don’t like or don’t care about, you can tap the 3 dots on the right side of the screen in front of the account username.

Press those 3 numbers to show some options, one of which says “I’m not interested”.

If you click on the Not interested option, the message will be hidden and a message that says: “This message has been hidden will be for you. We’ll see fewer messages like this from now on.”

While it’s frustrating that this feature can’t be permanently disabled, at least this way, Instagram can tailor more recommended posts to your express tastes.

What is the reaction of users?

The reaction to the new social networking site feature has been far from positive, and users are frustrated because their feeds are now full of accounts that don’t follow.

People have flocked to Twitter to express their emotions about it.

One user tweeted, “First Instagram gives me an ad for anything other than my heart, then it gives me ‘post suggestions’ from other people I don’t care about ????Who’s on the Instagram Beta team and approved this shit?”

Another wrote: “@Instagram forcing advisory posts into my home feed then pushing my actual feed into an ‘older posts’ tab. Lots of content I WANT to see. Keep the browse page to yourself. Leave me alone.”

“Instagram, if I see the recommended posts, I’ll go to the Explorer page to which the recommended posts belong.DO NOT VISIT WITH MY ALIMENT,” said another.

Someone else tweeted: “Does Instagram notice … I’m the other people I am for an explanation of why and I don’t need you to put “message suggestions” in my thread?”
