COVID-19: U.S. Circle of Relatives Sent Back to the USBut it’s not the first time After being taken on vacation to Vancouver

A circle of American relatives was surprised last month while on vacation in Vancouver after using the so-called Alaska escape to cross Canada while the border was closed to the non-essentials due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The main points are fine, but the British Columbia government showed that Canadian Customs had reported a circle of Washington relatives who had entered British Columbia in Alaska last month.

According to Shawn Robins, Communications Director, Emergency Management B.C.

The circle of relatives intended to move directly to the Border of the Arc de la Paz from Alaska without impeding to appreciate the views of British Columbia.

The Canada-U.S. border has been bordered by the U.S. But it’s not the first time It has been closed to non-essential traffic since March 21, but there is a loophole in which Americans must drive through Canada if they head to Alaska.

In July, the CBSA introduced stricter regulations and access for travelers crossing Canada into Alaska for nondiscretionary purposes, such as running or jogging.

U.S. citizens can enter Canada to access Alaska, but they will need to take a direct address and prevent only at the top. They are also limited to crossing at one of CBSA’s five border entrances: Abbotsford-Huntingdon, Osoyoos and Kingsgate.in British Columbia; Coutts in Alberta; and North Portal, Saskatchewan.

Motorists will have to cross Canada in the highest direct direction to Alaska, avoiding national parks and tourist sites, and must hang a label on the rearview mirror indicating when they will have to leave Canada.

Before entering Alaska, they must arrive at the nearest CBSA border access point to verify their departure from Canada.

Judith Gadbois-St-Cyr, spokesperson for the Canadian Border Services Agency, said Saturday that she may not provide key points on express instances when asked about the circle of relatives captured in Vancouver.

He said CBSA has express statistics for foreigners transiting Canada in Alaska.

However, he stated that between March 22 and September 2, a total of 18,431 foreign nationals were denied access to Canada from the United States because the target was thought to be discretionary through a border facility officer.

Of these, 16070 were U.S. citizens and 2,361 were citizens of United States countries.

In addition, during this period, 448 travelers who arrived by air in Canada directly from other foreign countries were denied access to Canada because they did not meet access standards.

THE CBSA has stated that non-compliance with existing border restrictions is a violation of the Quarantine Act and may result in fines of up to $750,000 and/or imprisonment of up to six months.

Prime Minister John Horgan expressed frustration that some Alaskan travelers are enjoying the “images and sounds of British Columbia” going straight to their destination.
