The US Open struck in the rain, forcing the roof to close in matches involving Daniil Medvedev and Serena Williams.
Daniil Medvedev won the first set against Christopher O’Connell when the roof had to close at the time at Louis Armstrong Stadium.The start of Williams’ adjustment against Margarita Gasparya in short delay as the roof closed at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Sloane Stephens continued his path to the U.S. Open championship for a moment with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 victory over Olga Govortsova.

Matteo Berrettini produced a memorable shot at the US Open, and a reminder that tennis regulations don’t say the ball has to pass over the net.Around the net, it’s fine, too.
With 5 in the third set of his third-round victory, the 2019 semi-finalist ran to his forehand, away from the doubles street, to reach a ball that seemed absolutely out of place and threw a forehand that stood between the net pole and the chair judge, snuggling up in search of a winner.
In a glorious demonstration of vibrations “act as if you were there,” Berrettini turned around and walked away.There’s no wild party.
There is still one match left to win, and soon it was over, the Italian sixth seed beat Ugo Humbert 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (6).

Vasek Pospisil beat compatriot Milos Raonic 6-7 (1), 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-3 to advance to the 3rd US Open.
Pospisil has been strong since returning from surgery last year on a herniated disk and helped Canada succeed in the 2019 Davis Cup final.He has been strong in the last 3 sets to keep Raonic, the 25th seed, off the starting table.
It’s a start at Flushing Meadows for Canadians. Felix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal and Denis Shapovalov of Toronto also won their first men’s games to send four men to the circular moment for the first time since 1959.

Defending Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin won her second round event at the US Open against unranked Leylah Fernández 6-4, 6-3.
Kenin, the no.2 best seed, had more winners than direct errors and never faced a break point.The American has lost in the third circular at the Open in the last three years and will look to break that streak on Saturday.

Amanda Anisimova won a U.S. youth game, joining wildcard Katrina Scott 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 at the time of the U.S. Open.But it’s not the first time
