MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The University of Wisconsin, along with UW-Health, will be one of the first clinical sites in the United States for a new coronavirus vaccine.

It takes approximately 1,600 other people for the trial and will take position over the next 8 weeks at the University Hospital. While much remains to be done in this phase 3 trial, the effects of the vaccine have been very promising.
“All phase one and phase two knowledge in England is very encouraging for this specific vaccine,” said Dr. William Hartman, assistant professor of anesthesiology at the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health.
The first patient is expected to get the vaccine on Tuesday, September 1.With the way the trial is set up, the patient will not know if it is actually the vaccine or a placebo. After treatment, the test will last approximately two years.and those who participated in the trial will undergo regular tests to monitor their health.
