KING COUNTY, Wash.- To stop the spread of COVID-19, King County is opening two new loose sites in southern King County.
“We know that not everyone in King County has equivalent evidence,” said Dow Constantine, king county director.
The new Auburn and Renton sites will be modeled on the Seattle sites.
“These new sites are especially for other people who don’t have insurance or other barriers,” said Patty Hayes, director of public conditioning in Seattle and King County.
Experts have long said that the tests aim to reduce the amount of COVID-19.
South King County has been a case venue.
“Closing the hole in access to testing has been a more sensible public fitness precedent, as we continue to see the disproportionate effect of COVID-19 on communities of color and those living in southern King County,” Hayes added.
Although tests in the county have doubled since June, Hayes said there is still a long way to go, so the two new sites are vital because they can run up to 1,500 more tests consistently with the day.
“So they can be safe, as well as the one they enjoy and the community at large, especially at this critical moment just before the start of the flu season,” Constantine said.
The Auburn at 2701 C St. SW opens on September 1.
Renton’s location, at 805 SW Ave., opens Sept. 8.
King County says its goal is to return the effects of the checks to others within two days.
