The Government of Hawaii is asking all travelers to complete their “Safe Travels” online application to keep their citizens and visitors healthy from the coronavirus pandemic, starting Tuesday.
Travelers can complete two forms: one for between islands and one for trans-Pacific.The new plan scans the paper procedure and uses the same shape for each type of ler.
The bureaucracy collects data on fitness and contact with public fitness watch.
This is a detection procedure that includes temperature and secondary detection controls for travelers with symptoms or temperatures of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or more.
“I am pleased to launch this virtual app, which will allow our customers to provide the physical state and data they want before arriving at the airport,” Gov. David Ige said in a press release.”It will also help us keep in touch with those who want to be quarantined. This is a vital step in preparing for the reopening of our economy.”
Here’s how it works: travelers enter their data and top points 24 hours before their flights. They will get a QR code via email after entering their data, which is scanned at the airport once they arrive at their destination.
Ige announced this month that the state will not reopen tourism until at least October, its mandatory 14-day quarantine for out-of-state and inter-island travelers (in Kauai, Hawaii, Maui and Kalawao counties) remains intact.
Forget Hawaii vacation until at least October: COVID-19 peak delays reopening tourism
The state is executing a “tourist bubble concept” for residents between islands. The state calls the program an “enhanced motion quarantine” that each county can expand to give citizens and visitors the opportunity to pass between islands without 14 days of quarantine.
Officials discussed a concept that would allow tourists to move freely around resorts while their movements are monitored by a portable monitor to ensure they remain within the boundaries of facilities.
The concept of a “tourist bubble” would keep tourists in a “geographical barrier” that would remain in their movements, West Hawaii Today reported.
How Hawaii Can Eliminate Quarantine: State Can Use Generation of ‘Geographical Fences’ to Track Tourists’ Coronavirus Pandemic
The delay in tourism, the moment since the program was announced in June, will cause passengers who have opted for the past reopening plan on September 1 and have purchased airfare to Hawaii; Airline flight schedules and, of course, Hawaii’s battered tourism industry. The quarantine rule began in March and the most recent extension means that much of the year will end as few visitors want to be confined to their hotel or vacation rental.
The state has reinstated the ban on social gatherings for more than five other people, indoors and outdoors, and other restrictions in Oahu, which is home to Honolulu and most cases of Hawaiian coronavirus.
