NFL Players Association to handle 2K Sports

The NFL Players Association has reached an agreement with 2K Sports that will allow the game developer to use the names, photographs and similarities of more than 2,000 players.

The deal announced Thursday through either party also includes OneTeam Partners, a marketing and licensing corporation representing the NFL and Major League baseball unions.

The NFL and 2K announced a multi-year gaming association in March. This is the first time since 2004 that 2K has produced an NFL game. The contract covers NFL-themed, low-quality simulation video games. The first titles will be released early next year.
