Ministry of Health launches new drug site

The Ministry of Health is releasing a drug data called High Alert.

The online page aims to identify where drug damage occurs and tries to anticipate trends and outbreaks imaginable in New Zealand.

They also need others to provide a percentage of their reports with on-site medications.

Richard Taylor, director of the Department of Health’s Directorate of Mental Health and Addiction, told Heather Du Plessis-Allan that the credibility of this will not normalize drug use in New Zealand.

“I think the Department of Health is very transparent about it. It is safer not to use drugs at all, however, we have a duty to minimize the harm caused by drug use anywhere we can.”

It asserts that all data you collect will be confidential and for the exclusive use of High Alert.

“Anyone who reports unforeseen or disruptive effects of the drug can allocate a percentage of their reports to the website, which will help ensure the protection of others.”
