Giant meetings in Indianapolis will be the subject of approval through the Marion County Health Decompose as a component of the updated reopening rules announced today through Mayor Joe Hogsett.
Hogsett said occasions, conventions, fairs, festivals and sporting events will have to present a public fitness event plan if attendance is expected to exceed 1,000 people. Such occasions are allowed when Marion County enters Stage 4.5 of Indiana’s slow reopening on July 9.
“We now require that any occasion involving more than 1,000 people submit a public plan for physical fitness events and get approval from the Marion County Department of Public Health,” the mayor said in statements that included his mandatory July 9 mask order.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, limited capacity and social distance to many events.
The Marion County Fair, scheduled July 11-19 at the Marion County Fairgrounds, defined its precautions before this week.
Employees, volunteers and suppliers will get daily fitness checks, according to the fair’s website. Abdul-Hakim Shabazz, a member of the fair’s board of directors, said the disinfection and hand washing stations will be distributed at the fair. The staff of the fair will build their cleanliness of the much affected areas. They will also reduce the frequency, or eliminate as much as possible, items such as condiment dispensers and water sources, Shabazz told IndyStar.
The Indiana State Fair 2020 is canceled, the Indiana State Fairgrounds will host its first Fairgrounds amusement park from July 31 to September 7.
North American Midway Entertainment will bring carnival, games and food attractions to FairGrounds, 1202 E. 38th St., the five-week race. The fairground amusement park will be closed on Tuesdays and Mondays outside Labor Day.
According to the attraction’s website, fitness precautions come with temperature controls for employees, hand disinfection stations, second-hand design designed for physical distance and non-contact admission.

“Every occasion held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Event Center and indiana State Department of Health rules and the Mayor’s Office, adding a review of our public fitness plans for the event,” said Sharon Smith, Communications of the Indiana State Fair Commission Director.
In the sports occasions draw that draws giant crowds, the Indianapolis 500 has announced plans for a capacity of 50% of the participants in the August 23 race.
The Indianapolis Indians, meanwhile, have canceled their 2020 minor league season.
