MICHIGAN INN REMOVES THE NORWEGIAN FLAG, RESIDENTS BELIEVE THE CONFEDERATE FLAG IS INCORRECT: REPORT
According to WLIX reports, when Greg and Kjersten Offbecker created the St. Johns Inn, called The Nordic Pineapple, they installed the flag, an American flag next to them.
The couple then began to receive emails and phone calls mercilessly. Some were even convinced that the “B-B” had been built through Confederate leaders when, in fact, unionized personnel built the construction of the Civil War era for the daughter of the founder of Saint Johns.
Kjersten Offbecker said the flag had been hung to constitute his Scandinavian heritage. However, with the confusion, she withdrew him because she said she did not appreciate frustration.
The Norwegian flag has the same as the Confederate flag, but the patterns and symbols are different. The Confederate flag is red with a blue “X” containing white stars.
“It’s a mixture of a very bad attitude and a lot of ignorance, ” said George. “You’d think that Americans would say what it is and what isn’t a Confederate flag, even if it’s a flag that somehow looks like a Confederate flag.”
“But, look at how quickly people just turn to outrage and tried to shut these people down because they thought they had broken the rule against wrongthink…” he told host Shannon Bream. “So, the combination of malice and ignorance is really toxic.”
George lobbied the importance of speaking to protect the rights of freedom of expression of those with whom he disagrees.
“Temple University is pressured to present [Professor] Marc Lamont Hill with certainness statements that he disagreed with at all. But, nevertheless, I threatened to run a demo matrix … to protect the rights of free speech from the very progressive Marc Lamont Hill,” he said. “Because he has everything [the right to] freedom of expression like me or anyone else.

“The First Amendment is for all of us,” George said.
“These are the assets on the left. These are the assets on the right. It’s the assets of conservatives, they’re the assets of liberals. They’re everyone’s assets…” he said.
“And then we will have to protect the rights to freedom of expression and preserve the rights to freedom of expression of those we oppose,” George urged.
