DUBAI, July 1 (Reuters) – The United Arab Emirates postponed the launch of its mission to Mars due to weather conditions at the launch site in Japan, the UAE government’s communications workplace said Tuesday.
A new release date in July may be announced soon, he said on Twitter.
The UAE Hope sspeedcraft program was announced by Japan’s Tanegashima Sspeed Cinput at 00:51 UAE time on Wednesday (20:51 GMT on Tuesday) for a seven-month adventure to the red planet where it is in orbit and returns atmospheric data. (Reports through Lisa Barrington; Edited through Andrew Heavens)
