After receiving the recommendation from two witnesses, police special forces and a sniffer dog discovered Rausch sitting in a bush with four pistols in front of him and an axe on his lap, said Deputy Regional Police Deputy Juergen Rieger. An additional pistol was also discovered.

Rausch was injured in the arrest and an officer suffered a shallow pang, Rieger said. Neither of us had to be hospitalized.

The men’s search position last week after police were alerted to a suspicious user dressed in a bow and arrow. Authorities said Rausch first cooperated but suddenly fired a gun at the officers, forcing them to surrender their service weapons. Nobody got hurt.

During post-arrest interrogations, Rausch told investigators that the weapon that threatened officers with a white gun, police and prosecutors said in a statement. The weapon is under investigation, according to the statement.

A Saturday-approved sentence ordered Rausch to remain in custody, ending the imaginable fees for theft of extortion and illegal possession of a firearm.

Rausch lost his apartment last fall and reportedly lived in the woods for weeks, the government said.

He had spent time in jail for shooting a woguy with a crossbow a decade ago, and last year discovered the existence of child pornography while under investigation for possession of explosives, the BBC reported.
